US thingy found at 1850's farm house....help please

these 2 items I'm not sure about. I found them both in my front yard and my house was built in 1856. any help with identification and age would be appreciated. thanks..

Yep. It could have gone on a harness also. I have a harness that has 6 of them.

might be from the civil war.....these look alot like mine..
