Looks like a military pin. The back photo shows where the actual pin itself would be. Couldn't tell you what year it might be. Really cool find though

Yeah, not sure of the time frame but it is a collar disc for enlisted men. WWII maybe.

It looks like type 1, both the metal and the shape of the "S" point it in that direction.
