Has anyone ever seen these before. Wondering what time frame they may have been from guessing maybe the 60s. They seem to be in excellent condition brass with ceramic centers with enamel. There is seven of them in the set. I saw one on eBay their asking $50 for it. I paid a dollar for all 7.
Well Missile Mail was an experimental project from 1959
"Before man reaches the moon," Summerfield was quoted as saying, "mail will be delivered within hours from New York to California, to England, to India or to Australia by guided missiles."
Without researching them, Id guess they were either from that period to celebrate the project or possibly into the 70's or later as a look back.
If you were from my area I'd say that they are probably worth exactly what you paid for them since everyone who owns a thrift store (including Goodwill & Salvation Army) researches everything before it hits the floor. Keep an eye on the auction and see what they go for, if at all.
Not to be smart, but you might want to hold on to them for a while, when the postal service finally goes out of business, they will be worth much more.
