✅ SOLVED US MARINE Button??

Can someone tell me what I have here? I found two of these in a cigar box with other
Marine buttons and stuff. I'm not familiar with buttons, but these look more like paper
brads. Shown next to a AA battery for size.

Cigar box, huh? Sounds familiar. Ive been sorting through an old cigar box with military buttons and so forth as well. Interesting coincidence.
