I hate forest fires. I can imagine the smell now just thinking about it. Hopefully crews are able to get this one under control soon.

I’ve been waiting for it to dry up and burn here, but we keep getting rain. We’ve had every bit of 40 days of rain this summer. I quit watering my lawn after July 4th.

Amazing pics and hope y'all stay safe. Thanks to a lot of rain we've stayed in good shape here in the mountains.
 

Rain helped a lot. I talked to a few fire fighters that said... we have to let the fire come to us. (bosses) We don't actually fight the fire. I can only wonder what the road (199) is like, and will be when it really rains.... Can you say slides?
 

Are the fires still burning ? How did they start ?
