Detector(s) used
Tesoro Compadre (Soon to be teknetics T2SE)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I got a tesoro compadre, what would be a good upgrade? I'm doing good with this detector but I would like something that tells you how deep it is and maybe what it is.
thanks
Scav.
P.S this detector has found 7 rings and 2 pendats and one chain in the 2-3 months I've had it.

Sounds like a decent machine there. Are you sure you wanna get rid of it? Or are you keeping it and wanting to add something to your collection!?

What kind of hunting do you intend to do? This would help in suggestions for an upgrade/new detector.

You have a great machine thats demonstrated it's capability,with the proper attitude,can produce the best a finds there are.More practice and it'll sing!!Tons a au 2 u 2-John

no, I was gonna keep my tesoro for a backup . would mostly be doing parks ,schools, home sites the occasional relic hunt and will do the beaches alot this summer.

That Tesoro is a nice machine, but if you're looking for something with features like depth indicatot, target ID and pinpointing, my Garrett ACE250 is great, and for only $200.00 can't be beat. It's not gonna be an upgrade per se, as I think both machine are probably about the same performance wise, but the Garrett has a lot of digital features that make it easier to decide what the target may be. Just my 2 cents! Good luck!

Sounds like you want a XLT DFX or if you want to stick with the tesoro brand a Cortez. Those three are the best in my book. I own a DFX and a Cortez. Both are good detectors the DFX is awsome but more expensive.

Scavenger,
There are many good machines to upgrade to but if you are going to hunt wet sand on Saltwater beaches, then you are going to need one of the multi frequency machines ie Minelab, Fisher CZ series. The compadre is a great machine and has served you well and will do ok in the dry sand
