UPDATED: More Germany Finds (Part 5) Nazi buttons, Dog Tag, rings

Hello
This is about three days of detecting in the evenings. All finds are from on base here in Germany. I think I have located the older part of the base, since I'm finally finding Wheat Pennies and older German Army items. My oldest Wheat Penny is now a 1936.
Some Notables: (top to bottom)
1. Live 45 Cal Rounds, one is 1945 issue
2.A bunch of keys
3. Plenty of US rank
4. CENTER: Wheat pennies, Nazi coins, Austrian coin, Post WWII German coins
THE HIGHLIGHT: Nazi uniform button, Bavarian Uniform Button (Lion, 1915) and half of a German soldier's dog tag.
5. Alot of Clad and Euro
6. Three rings, two silver
Unknown: On the left, brass devices with the rings on top.

All finds were with White's XLT

Have you been looking by the U.S. Barracks around Bamberg or is it an old POW site?
Wish i could find a 1/4 of what your finding.
I got your E-mail,but was sick all weekend :P
We will get together sometime,but in my area there is really no place to look.
Or maybe im just blind 8)

What unit is the Erkennungsmarke?

Viking; I hope you are feeling better. I'm hunting the base I'm on, Warner Barracks, Bamberg.

What unit is the Erkennungsmarke? It Has (ZUG 84 and 7), so I'm not sure. I have one from the 5th Panzer Reg also.

Awesome finds, you are finding a great variety of things! If you get a chance, a close up of the German Eagle pin would be nice to see, looks to be in good condition. HH, Mike

thats some cool stuff.. i have never hunted on base yet. That half a dog tag is cool.. if it is R.A.D., i think that was the work force. They had a swaz with a gear going around the outside of it. Worked on railroads, roads, etc. The button/pin is cool too. I never tried to hunt on a base since I figured it would be too much trouble. cool finds!!

Great post. Man, those are some awesome finds! Congrats to you.
Here is a picture of something you may enjoy too. It's my brother's 88 Iroc with only 12k original miles. It's currently taking up my garage while he gets settled into his new home. Maybe I should take it out and peel off the tires? Hmmmmm.

Those brass devices with the rings, If you pull the ring out does it make the end of the device get smaller? Like it would fit into a hole and be used to keep aircraft panels aligned while they were being riveted? Then you just pull the ring and it pops right out?

i agree whith you, RAD are not fighting force, they are only built strengthenings and almost completely consisted from the soldier not suitable for military service at the front, however half of the dog-tag is a riddle

Just a note for the non-military types...

WW2 German I.D. tags, "Dog tags" were made so if you were killed, the tag could be broken in two, half stays with the body and the other half was turned in for record keeping, so, finding half a dog tag is kinda rare.
