The lake is almost completely drained. When I arrived, the local fishing club was having a fish harvest festival and pulling all the fish out of the lake. What a comical sight to see. They were fileting the big fish and preping some for smoking, the smaller fish were transported to another lake to restock the lake next year. All this going on and I forgot my camera, dang! Detected for about 3 hours in the deeper areas. Found more trash, less coins, more rings and things. 8 rings total, 1 8K (333) thin gold, 5 silver 925, a copper ring and a nice junk ring which I gave to a little girl who wouldn't go away. A nice silver cross and around 6 Euros in mixed coins. I have a slight case of gold fever as I could have gone detecting at a Castle built in 1107, legally, received permission while George and Gary were here but was not allowed to take them there. Detected the Castle last week for 2 hours and found nothing. Here's a pic of the Castle last week. Have to cut firewood today but hope to get out later this afternoon. HH, Mike

This beach has given up several nice finds over the past 3 years.? They partially drain it every year exposing most of the swim area but this year, they are draining it completely.? Hunted here twice this week and found some very nice finds.? Several silver pieces, rings, earrings and an 1808 silver 1 Kreuzer coin broken and barley readable.? About 18 Euros in coins and over 50 Deutsch Marks, about 25 Euros worth.? Here?s a picture of the beach area and diving area.? The water was even lower for yesterdays hunt but it is getting muddy.? Need to let it dry out a bit before I go again.

Here is a very thick banded silver 925 ring

Another silver 925 ring with a gold looking mount, I doubt it is gold but I?m not sure what the mount is made of.? I?ve cleaned the silver rings, buffed them with a dremel.

A gold 333 or 8K Astrological Leo pendant, needs a cleaning.

And this is probably the best find.? A hunters gold 14K (585) ring with a deer tooth mounted on it, two small acorns look like red gold at the 11:00 and 14:00 positions.? Two oak leaves embrace the deer tooth at the 17:00 and 19:00 positions.? My wife IDed the ring as a hunter?s ring trophy, WTG wifey!? I was trying to figure out what the stone was, LOL!? It?s a tooth and possibly a trophy from a deer kill making it a very unique ring.

The hallmarks and stamps.? 585 (14K) Makers mark and E667, I don?t know what the makers mark is but suspect the E667 is the red gold Electroplating on the acorns.? Let me know if you think it is something different.? HH all, Mike

Great finds! Nice spot to lose yourself in an afternoon of detecting. Keep on looking maybe lots more.

Re: Finds so far from a draining beach...

Nice stuff!!! How deep are most of the finds?

Re: Finds so far from a draining beach...

Nice finds Mike. I think the second ring has some Marcasite pieces in it. Marcasite was worn by the Grecian people to give strength and promote healing.

I have a "honey hole" like yours. I'm impatiently waitng for the water to be drawn down so I can get to work! Watch out lake.........here I come!

Happy Hunting,
Moon

Nice finds Mike. It must be tooth month. I have to give the wife's credit to. They might not be the most interested in our stuff but they have a good view of things and can i.d something from time to time.

That's a nice site. I would hit it hard. Including the woods around it.
