Hunted that man made sand mountain area called Monte Kaolino tonight for about 3.5 hrs. All fine quartz sand. I did my best clad hunt ever, just over 55 Euros or around $67.00 in change, a .925 silver charm, 1 junk ring and a nice LED flashlight with batteries included. Total clad coin count is 96 coins, 2 Euro coins X 8=16, 1 Euro coins X 23=23. The 1 Euro coins prevailed and were the most denomination found. Hope to post more on this later. HH, Mike
Took the kids and friends to this man made quartz sand mountain about two weeks ago, its 120 meters high, 220 meters to walk up it.? The area is a resort, the mountain is used for sand skiing and walking.? There is a big swimming pool surrounded by sandy beach and a big playground, with camp grounds, nothing but sand.? The day we visited, I noticed many women were wearing toe rings, ankle bracelets and rings on their fingers.? Everyone goes barefoot here especially when walking up the mountain.? Walking up you take one step up and slide back down ? a step, how many toe rings and ankle bracelets could be here is what I was wondering.? I took the detector out of the car for this trip, ARGH!? Here?s the mountain in the distance, still several minutes to drive before arriving.
Part of the playground and mountain.
Me getting ready to make the ascent, I started out last
And finished first, which is why a paid no attention to a little sniffle and cold I had that is now kicking my butt, no detecting for a few days.? I?ll try to get to this area for detecting in a few days after this cold clears up.? School has started here and that place should be a ghost town by now, nothing but tumble weeds and detecting, I hope!? The pic is our group coming up the mountain with a nice view of the detecting areas.? I have a concern, the mountain probably has masses of concrete and iron rebar in the foundation, might not be detectable but still many other areas to detect.? HH, Mike
