(UPDATE with pics) National Guard Medal from 1914
Well I have been detecting an area for several months now. I have dug bullets, buttons and camp items in this area. I have always wondered why all these finds were surfacing. Well today on September 11th i found the item that dated my site. The item I found is an old National Guard Medal. It is from 1914.
.That is a heck of a long time to be in the ground. Wait till you see the condition it was in. Decent for being almost 100 years old. Very cool and probably a one of a kind. Stopped at the local library today and found the original paper from 1914 with the encampment title on the front page and a write up about the event. Very cool to have found the paper from those few days in 1914. Very big deal around here back then. Thanks for looking guys.
