I had been wondering if it was possible to find a pre-1900s coin in good enough condition to be graded?

So I sent the 1854 Half Dime that I dug and posted on 6/23/19 in to get graded and found out this morning it received a grade of AU 55:

So here is the original post on TNet from 6/23/19: http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/610469-1854-half-dime-post-war-eagle.html

You can also see me dig this 1854 Half Dime on my YouTube Channel Bharp Treasure Hunter- Detecting Savannah Episode 23

It is possible to find a coin metal detecting that is in good enough condition to get graded!!!

Nice. What did the certification process cost? I have a couple they may be worth sending in.

You have to join the service first, but the economy tier cost $22 per submission plus shipping and handling.

I joined the NGC and sent in some 2019 west point quarters got a Ms 66 I think they are worth more with a grade to me anyway I also sent a quarter which was a 1917 or the rare 16 for 20 bucks each that's not alot I think you did good we work hard to find coins and it doesnt cost alot to be graded. I would have sent it in also easier to figure a value on it. Great coin good job. Tommy

That’s Cool!!! Where did You send it? PCGS? Congrats!!!

Congrats on receiving such a high grade on the slab- so often I see them come back labeled with Environmental damage or scratched or whatever- yours is awesome!
