A while back I posted this find of an old metal case about the size of a cig pack, but thinner and appearing to contain a photo (under glass). I gave it to a local historian who works closely with Vassar College in our area and the item is currently undergoing analysis by a team of three experts, including two anthropologists and a forensic chemist. They are trying to determine if it's actually a mirror/compact from the 1800s, the suspected timeframe (they may be able to determine era by the chemical make up of the material). Or, it may indeed have a photo. We'll see and I'll keep you updated.

Wow, what an interesting crew you have to help you identify your wazzits...very impressive. You need to recruit those people for TN, would'nt that be great !!!

Maybe it is one of those little keepsakes that you put a lock of hair and then put the photo of that person on top. Just speculating.....anxious to see what your crew finds.
