I was back looking at the Park where I found the baggage tag last year and met an old woman that lived in the house across the street. She was in her 90's but was still pretty sharp. She said "while you're hunting, look out for a baggage tag, it was from the wreck of the Old 97. Whoa, I had already found it, yikes! I said mam, I found that last year out here. She said, well, I'm glad you did, you've got yourself a piece of history there! She said her dad was in the clean up crew in the aftermath of the mailtrain wreck back in (I think she said 1907) up near Danville, Va. He found the baggage tag that was detached from any luggage and stuck it in his pocket as a souvenir. She said she didn't want it back, she said I found it fair and square, so she let me keep it! Even if it isn't worth a ton, it's cool having something from an incident that a song was written about.
