Hi i have googled, asked around in various places and still haven't found out what this hallmark / stamp means. It's a really small mark on the bail ( which is soldiered on ) of the locket.

Please can anyone help identify this? any help much appreciated.

I bought the locket a year or so ago second hand, i have no idea of age or anything much for that matter.

It's a beauty, TreeStump. Maybe something inside?

No nothing inside :( , thank you for commenting ... I did a bad thing and actually ripped the red paper that once lined this locket out, i didn't pay much for it and was once suspicious about there be other markings too, so i ripped the insides out and lost them... live and learn. It was only after re-finding the locket i got curious about this unusual marking again on the bail and posted it in a facebook group, where one lady said she thought it was gold, she mentioned the fact there is nowhere where the gold has rubbed off like on the hinge, and little bit which clips and un clips it is a good indicator too, she said it may be Asian.
So if no one anywhere knows what this marking is the only thing would be to have it tested i guess, i wouldn't trust myself testing it so would have to take it somewhere. I just took two more pictures of the marking, also one of the insides, there are glue marks on it though where the red paper stuff was.

Thank you everyone for your help
