002.JPG006.JPG007.JPG014.JPGHad about an hour before dark headed down to the beach. Didn't find much but checked out the tot lot on the way back. This chewing gum box sounded out quite loudly at about 6" deep. At first I thought junk but it was so heavy. It had 21 quarters, 13 dimes and 2 one dollar coins inside. It's a first for me:)

A first for you and a lesson for the kid who buried it. Have you thought about replacing it in the hole with maybe, a note?

Blow his mind and place a 10 dollar bill in it for him to find. He will be back for it.

Cache nice! He probably starched it there for when the ice cream man comes.

Kids have been burying those for many many decades. Now just go find one that was buried before '64! cool find!

almost 9 bucks in one hole!, not to shabby, nice digs!

Awesome! I found an altoids mint tin in a tot lot a year ago. My kid must've been poorer than yours though! Got 18 memorials, 5 nickels, and 8 dimes. A lot were rust-welded together. One of my favorite finds! Grats on yours

Thanks...That's just crazy that you also found one.

I look inside all those types of tins I come across. My best find in them are some twigs and dirt the get in the holes that have rusted through. Great find. Never know what's hidden inside something else.

Congrats , now I'd love a find like that! The two dollar coin's were a plus.:hello2:
