Found this today. It was floating in the dirt with a few flakes. As you can see not a particularly rocky spot.
I find lots of flakes and a handful of tools in that hole. So it’s definitely AMONG native artifacts, early archaic by my best guess. It is unlike the flat tabular sandstone, weathered and heated limestone and occasional chert river gravel that also comes up occasionally.
It’s got 3 bands going all the way around. I don’t see layers like differential weathering. It almost looks plummet like but it’s suspect it probably natural. Still I’ve never seen anything like it so could it just maybe be something?
