I thought of this awile ago, & forgot about it.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?Back in the Early to Mid 70's, before the towns in my area had Public Sewer Systems, alot of people had a Septic Tank. when these tanks would get full, the truck would come and Pump out the tank. Due to the fact there were no Sewerage plants in the area, and no Enviromental fears, the driver would go to a local "Pig" Corn Field, open the Valve and drive accross the field . I watched a truck do this once. and Know where the field is. of course there are most likely more and, at some point, this year, I'm going to ask permission, and check my hunch. IF it pans out, I just may have to stop by the local Septic Cleaners offices and ask if they remember what fields they used, in the days of "YORE"? ;)? ?HH ALL, jeff

So what are you thinking would be in there, rings that people lost down the toilet? Trying to think of anything else, coins that fell out of people's pants, etc?

Yep & down the drain, where people had their sinks running into it also . it may explain why some people find "HOT SPOTS" in fields where nothing went on.

Sink traps catch most items of weight but being in the plumbing business I've seen plenty of things pushed through toilets just because of the volume and speed the water leaves at. If the house trap didn't catch it you just might!!

My nephew has flushed two of his mom's watches. $100+ for the first one and $70+ for the second one. He also threw away one cordless phone and tried to throw away her cell phone. Its funny to listen to a phone ringing on the bottom of a full trash bag. Lucky for her it was tyhe paper garbage. Kids aren't they great. :D
