Unusual Rock

Hi all!
I found a couple of rocks in central Georgia, and wondered if anyone could help identifying them. They are about the size of a softball, and have what appears to be small pieces of other rocks, or rock chips, embedded in them. In this area, there are mostly milky quartz, and these stood out. Does anyone know anything about them? Thanks!

It has the appearance of Iron Ore slag but I have no idea why it would have Quartz and other rocks embedded in it unless they poured it in it's molten state down a slope of ground which contained those types of rocks. Anyways, welcome to TNET and hope you will stay with us and share pics and stories of more finds!
