These pieces were found about 30 years ago about 2 miles apart in Jefferson Co, IL South of Mt. Vernon. I've only seen 5 other hardstone Geniculates. One in the Townsend Collection, one pictured in the Bannerstone book, then a few others in collections along the way. I have never seen a finished one though always in blanks.

Those are kick ass. I love the material on the bottom one. Classic banner material but more for Wisconsin wings. That is a pretty interesting pair.

Those are very nice. The partially drilled hole makes it a nice study piece also.

I was just hunting in jefferson county this morning and found a little axe, and was feeling pretty good about it until I saw your atifacts. Those are amazing! Could you possibly explain what in the world they were? I was hunting west of Mt. Vernon, near Woodlawn.
