It looks like a zinc penny with out the copper cladding? Your first image almost blends in with the grain in your table. Interesting pic. :icon_thumright:

here check this out on youtube on Mercury coating. Someone probably coated some and than just used them back in circulation and that's possibly how your Grandma ended up with it.
