Thanks. I found two aluminum lighters. The other has no markings.

I think they made them for the novelty aspect. They were lighter than stainless steel. Nice find, not too common. Your top one is an adv. lighter given away by the co.

I found an ad for Poulsen & Nardon inc. L.A. Ca. from 1942. This may help date the lighter. I haven't found anything for the "Royal Chef" brand yet. Still looking.

Thanks Sherm, dg, and digg. I guess they are from the 40's. That's more than I could find. I need to put in new flints. Wonder if they have any value?

Didnt Royal Chef make ovens?

There was a Magic Chef (possibly a spin-off of Tappan), not to say the 2 couldn't be related. I was thinking more along the lines of BBQ grille, and perhaps the lighter is an early form of todays extended butane grill lighter (you know the plastic 8" long ones)??
