Hello all! I got to hunt my uncles farm in Southern VA for the first time yesterday with some good results. I have no idea what this is, I would guess something horse/farm related. It has a very interesting shape. The oldest datable item I found was a 1894 suspender clip but as I said this was the first time I've hunted here and only for a couple if hours. As always your expertise and help are greatly appreciated! Hope everyone is having a great Christmas Day. HH!

It's a driving bit for a horse called a jic bit. I have seen them with a hinged mouth piece also.
