When glass is in the ground minerals react with the glass decaying it and giving it an opalesce coating, About the only way to get it off glass is to have it tumbled.

The only problem with doom insulator,the area has no power lines on any kind near the site. closest is 1/2 mile also it is less than 1",and what looks like two thickness of glas on the broken end.

The one on the left is probably the bottom of an early 1800s bottle. The cone would have been to the inside. Tony

Yes I agree. Its the thick bottom of a bottle. I have found quite a few like that. The other one is a broken piece of "black glass."
