these two pieces were found at low tide on a surf beach - in the rock and shell line, a thin piece of wire held both together. The ring says SIC PARVIS MAGNA on the outside and has 29 - Januarie -1596 9 -32 - 79 on the inside????? a quick google search and it has something to do with Sir Francis Drake?

the pendant is very curious - quite heavy - I cleaned a bit after the pic and it seems to be silver in colour at least - not sure if it is sterling or another metal, anyway it has the most curious hallmarks / engravings or stamps on the back - and an intricate design on the front.

any ideas on either?
couple of hours later.......
added a slightly cleaned up pic - pendant has way more shine it seems in pic and really want to know about it - I now like this loot, I'm taking it as good luck,

Congratulation, i wish you luck. HH, Hamid

Interesting finds, Smoogle.

I'm not sure, but the pendant could be some type of pagan / Wiccan medallion...I found a similar one a few years ago.
I found this pic on a site a few minutes ago....

Very nice finds smoogle, they cleaned up quite nicely.
I can see why you like them...but can't offer any ID help.

The Hall Marks are interesting and should tell you more.
Google precious metals hallmarks.
From what I can remember when they use animals in a hallmark it is usually a precious metal.
A lion standing or rampant to the right; Dutch .935 ?
The cross will tell you about the faith like Celtic I think.
I cant see the triangle to well. Artist? town or date letters.
Try posting it in the What Is It forum. allot of knowledge follows that forum.
It is still pretty cool and interesting.
I think the cross stamp will tell the most.
