Found this on our farm which is over 150 yrs old. Its the reverse imprint of 1904 Indian head penny, its hard to make out though. It came up as copper/brass. Anybody have any ideas?
It's a neat find anyway you go. I would have to say this is probably just a example of somebody with a bit too much time on their hand. They just done it to do it. Like someone whittling a stick down to nothing. Back before everyone had fidget spinners.
File down or machine obverse and reverse off copper penny. Place new 1904 IHP face down over blank. Heat until cherry hot
Hit with ball pean hammer. Allow to cool and separate.
There should be an imprint of the 1904 IHP in the blank.
