You still searching the Treasure Beaches, Moe? Im thinking of driving up at the beginning of the month and spend the day. Maybe we can hook up. It will be about a 7 or 8 minus tide.

I'm going with what: F.G. said: Lead Fish cracker Mo , old lead will ring up in the
silver area, I have dug up old musket balls, ringing up in silver. keep digging in the area,
if there's slag, there's other stuff.

Thank you for the replies.

I thought it may be an alloy of brass silver or copper lead. One side is very smooth and has some brass looking spots. Two of the pics posted show an 'S' or 'EX' letters. It may be a charm someone made. I am not sure.

quality silver cleans up easily, lead turns white with age, I'd be leaning more towards taconite slag, used in the making of steel, heavy but nonmagnetic

Looks like melted aluminum or metal to me..... if you would like I can post a photo showing a pile of these that I found. The ones I have are melted aluminum. When the aluminum melts the dirt sticks to it and makes it black, the ones I have were dug in old fire pits. They are heavy too just like lead but I know they are not lead because they have spots where they are clean and there is no dirt stuck to them.
