It's difficult to make out, but it looks like it might be an old printing plate, which would explain why the writing is in reverse.

I'm not sure if there's a picture of something or someone above the wording but, when magnified, the surface looks like it has a fine pattern of indentations as sometimes seen on old printing plates (to take ink).

It looks like the impression of fabric. There’s not any picture that I can see. There might be more in the area, it was the last stop before it got dark on me. Thanks

This kind of thing (used to print ads and flyers etc for upcoming concerts):

I agree, a photo print plate - if you take the first image and put the name at the bottom you can see a shadow of a woman in the upper left holding a parasol with a wreath of flowers with hanging ribbons.

Updated with better photos, after washing a little with soap and water.
I’ll be darned....you guys are good. I think I can see it now. Photo plate of Kitty Wells!

Probably made from linotype,a hard lead alloy.Lead,tin and antimony.Prized by bullet casters for it,s ability to cast very good bullets with almost no imperfections.
