Unusual bullet

Hello all I am hoping someone may be able to identify this bullet. It looks similar to the 3 ring minie balls I see people dig in the south but that would be an unusual find here on the beaches of cape cod. It's just under 5/8 inch in diameter with a quick ruler measurement.

Looks like a Minié ball to me.

They don't have to be shot in the civil war. A lot of the guns were used after the war and then there is the war surplus.

5/8 is .62 caliber. You need a more precise measurement for positive ID. I'm certainly not a bullet expert, but .62 seems to me to be an odd caliber for mini balls.

It's just under 5/8 in its widest direction, maybe just over 9/16ths. I didn't dig out calipers because it's corroded and out of round. Figured close was good enough.
