I was poking around the same site that the barber dime and that ornate ring turned up at and found another piece that I'm having trouble getting info on. I'm assuming it's a bracelet, but I could be wrong about that.

The rings look like silver, but each of the welds between the rings has light green corrosion much like copper. The few welds that aren't corroded are silver in color though. The whole piece is quite stiff; it barely flexes when you put pressure on the sides and doesn't easily deform. Has anyone else encountered a piece like this?

Maybe a ring from a kerosene parlor lamp? :dontknow:

I don't get a sense that it is/was a bracelet...

Got me stumped, I want to watch this one and see if anyone really knows what it is. Are you going to test to be sure it's silver?

Looks like a silver bracelet to me. I have seen these made as projects in jewelry making classes. The silver solder gets the greenish color due to it's alloy.

There's a scrapyard I'm really friendly with and they have a handheld XRF; I'll see if I can get them to take a reading with it. That should give detailed proportions of the elements and maybe the alloy will help narrow down the possibilities!
