Interesting pieces and topic. Here's a few of mine, the first piece is from sw pa., and I can't figure it out, it's worked on every side with no breakage. The next two are WV points. Third piece is an Ohio piece, resalvaged, or made that way? no idea.

Those are unusual 37. When I looked at the first instantly I saw a Stanly, looks like the one side broke off & they carried on using it prolly for a blade..what throws me is that the tip isn't level with the base. Odd & neat, I like that one..
The second point looks like an amulate. I have a pic somewhere of one. They look like the side tips are broken off.

Ok found it. See what you think. I was told Amulates were worn..I believe they were made that way.

Thanks for posting & comments guys..

Great topic molly. A friend told me,"Not only is that the most unusual arrowhead I have ever seen, but also the ugliest arrowhead he had ever seen." Uniface Quartzite with one big flake in the crooked stem. Tried to "pretty it up a little "in the second pic.

Viking thats not bad at all. You should see the "Ugly points" from the carolinas, man they are rough. I'll see if I have any....

cool thread Molly, that top one reminds me of a crude clikityclak, i have no idea how to spell it. Hey 37, your bottom point reminds me of a certain point, very unique, my friend found one a few months ago, i have pics and was going to post it up here for a id, but i id'd it so i never posted. They intentionally took a chunk out of one side, kinda put a mini spokeshave right on the side. They look like a fish, when i get home i will look the name up in my book, there are only like 2 or 3 examples illustrated .

Chong, I have heard of the Clickityclak but, never seen one..

Anyone find any PLEASE post. I am intrigued..

Thanks Chong..

That's certainly possible about a salvaged Stanley type, good info on amulates, first I've heard of them.

Interesting pieces and topic. Here's a few of mine, the first piece is from sw pa., and I can't figure it out,

I think I mite know what happen to this point.
I think it was drop, and just the less bit of that wing ,hit something very hard.like a rock or something.
it cause a type of impact fracture.that shot up till almost the top part of the point, and it hinge fracture over and cause that big deep flake that's on top.
if you flip it over and look hard at that tip. you can see where just a little bit.been shear off .

Good eye LJ, I think that your opinion is definitely a possibility , I appreciate your view and drawing. Have a good one.

Chong, that's cool, I really dont know if it's a spokeshave or a funky notch for hafting purposes?

These odd, unusual pieces are great, they really make you think and question the decisions that ancient man put into them. They're important pieces of history imo.
