"Unsearched" ? My name is Billy & I am a Moron ....
?
You know better, I knew better, but i just once HAD to try my luck on a "Unsearched" ? Lot of wheaties. ( Holy crap ... some of you are laughing already !! )
A certain eBay dealer in upstate New York enticed this sceptic into purchasing 25 ROLLS of "Unsearched" Wheaties from him ... He claims these were Bank-rolled Shotgun rolls he purchased FROM the bank in a 40,000 roll lot.
I suppose it IS possible that HE himself did not search these, but you Damn Skippy whoever had them before him did !!
He claims that he wanted to see what he was dealing with when he bought these so he opened a few rolls to see. Just HOW MANY ROLLS constitutes a "Few" ? He said he was pleased to find a few Indian Head pennies ( again with the "Few" ... am I to assume it to be approximate # as the 1st "Few" I encounterd ? Also claimed to have found a Bunch of Steelies ... How many in a "Bunch" do you suppose ? Oh, yeah ... and a "Handfull" of Teens & Twenties ... WHOSE Hand was holding this "Handfull" ? He also proudly proclaimed he got a 1909 VDB ( As Homer Simpson would say WOO HOO !! Big Hairy Deal !! )
Now the topper for me was the feedback of people claiming to have found 1931-S's and such to go along with all dem Indians they were coming up with.
All week long I am looking forward to their arrival & hoping to have enough time for the "Victory Celebration" after I found that one or 2 Key dates that would make me look like Snoopy doing his Happy dance.
"Opened a FEW Rolls" ... I opened all 26 ( 1 was "Free" )
"Found a FEW Indian Heads" ... me too. 4 to be exact ... in 26 ROLLS.
"Handfull of teens & twenties" ? a BUNCH of Steelies ? Find your KEY COINS HERE ??
MY "Key" coin in 26 rolls was a 23-S in G ....
EVERY ROLL had ONE (1) BU Wheatie ... ALL being a 1958 or 1957-D ... guess whoever REALLY put these together ran out of one or the other. 1-2 Teens PER Roll 2-3 Twenties PER Roll, 3-4 Thirties PER Roll ... Noticing a Pattern here
Here is Irony for you .... not like Steelies were going to make my day or anything but, a "Bunch" he found in a "Few" rolls ....?? Hehe ... I actually found MORE Memorial cents (6) in these rolls than I did Steelies ( & THEY were so corroded, only a magnet could prove they were 1943s !! WTF ?? Memorials ??
So to recap here ... what constitutes a "Few" ? or a "Bunch" ? or a "Handfull" ? or a "Key Date" ?
I have already proven what constitutes a "Moron".
Guilty as charged.
Think I will now go for one of those "UNSEARCHED U.S. Coin lots" that promise at least 1 EACH of WL Half, Pre-64 Washington Quarter, V Nickle, Buffalo Nickle, Indian Head Penny, ect. Beats me how they can Guarentee at least one each of these if the Lot is "Unsearched", but they SAY it is, so it MUST be true.
