UNPACKING A RECENT HOME RELOCATION MOVE

My wife and I are just getting settled in our home and spending days and days opening containers that haven't seen daylight for years...

I opened a WWII wooden footlocker from my parents estate (1980) and discovered my aluminum Boy Scout Trail Chef kit composed of 2 pans, a skillet (lid), 3 plates and cups, pot handles, salt & pepper shakers, match container, folding forks, and a single knife, fork and spoon kit...the kit itself nests into a 10x10x10 package and is at least 60 years old and still in like new condition...

Also had a 4 legged folding toast contraption, a folding sterno stove and several 3-legged pot/pan platforms...

Sure brought back some great memories...

got that for sure worldtalker. Get some bacon and beans for that kit and put it back Stefen. I purchased a smaller girls scout one once at a yard sale for a little bit of nothing. Wasn't anything like yours but I put it up for when the SHTF. Just never know.

Cool. And you will be all set up if you head out on the detecting trail.

Awesome! You can use that ANY time! Power outage, camping, like poormsn15 said when SHTF, which may be sooner than we think! Your all set! Wish I had one.

Opened another box today and found an old McClellan Calvary saddle I inherited from my dad, which I used for cross-country endurance riding at least 40 or so years ago...don't look comfortable but it's lightweight and saves the horses back...not sure of it's age but they began during the Civil War and were used by the Calvary up to WWII. In fact, they are still being made today.

Years back I ride with the Tortuga Riders which was composed of Marines, mostly from Camp Pendleton CA. (San Diego County)

Usually the Base Commander ride with us as well...one year the Mounted Color Guard troupe were visiting the base and the Commander invited them to join us for dinner and they treated us to a precision show...which is rarely seen...anyway, each rider had a McClellan saddle...
