Unknown Totem Figure Charm

does anybody recognize this totem figure seen on a sterling & black enamel charm? it is vaguely familiar to me but i can't quite place it.

Not just a normal birdman, but a boogie birdman. Not sure if native American of African deity, talisman or totem??. No info on the back??

looks to me like a thunderbird figure. May be wrong , just a guess

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

That looks to be a loose modern interpretation of a small votive doll known as a “tunjo”, commonly placed in tombs in Pre-Columbian South America. Compare to this one from the Museo del Oro in Bogota, Colombia:
