I just did a search of "early light bulb" and went to the images. Your piece looks very similar to the base of many of the earliest of light bulbs. I didn't find an exact match, but you might check it out. It's definitely electrical and your last photo looks like a burned out filament.

I dont know what it is but I like it. Can we see more pics especially the filament looking part?

Is the threaded part brass?

I found this in the wall of a 1846 house. Can anyone shed light on what it is? its maybe 3" long.

Great ID Kuger! It is funny to me that you "shed light" on an item that shed light! ;D

I didnt know what it was but I had a feeling it was something special by the construction of the item. Probably hand soldered and crimped . Maybe you could find the missing parts.

:laughing7:....I meant to snap a couple pics of dug ones for ya,and keep forgetting!!Great piece...sure ya would never let it go,but I would take it if ya did....I have no idea what it would be worth either.....Thanks for the appreciation!!

............depends,where I am at they often used lard(pork) oil,which came in gallon + cans

I dont know. My little bottle pictured is Sperm Sewing Machine Oil.
