Unknown religous medallion and buttons

I went out for a while today and dug a few buttons, some blue china, melted silver, a musket ball, a neat little buckle, but the real prize was the cool medallion. I'm not real sure what kind it is, but this site produces mostly early 1800's to late 1700's stuff. Any ideas on what it is?

Your "buckle" is really a spur piece.

Early stuff!The side ways clasp(on the medallion) is usually an indicator to pre mid 19 Century Manufacture I also agree with B.B. Early spur buckle!!
