Unknown Maker of Spurs

Hello! A friend was given this pair of spurs years ago, by a family friend who was then in his 80's. He said they belonged to his mother. We don't know who made these spurs. On one side under the button is "PAT'D * (star)" and on the other side in the same spot is "HAND FORGED STEEL". I would really appreciate any information someone may have about these spurs.
Thank you!

They are diffenently womens spurs you can tell buy the thin leather. I dont know how much they are worth but do know that older spurs are in many cases quit valuable. There are lots of collectors that will pay a lot for the right ones. I have heard of some of them going for over 1500$. But I am not an expert, I would say that they are higher dollar ones do to the amount of decoration on them. Good luck.

Can't tell you what they're worth, but I'm pretty sure the "PAT'D" means they have been patented. The "HAND FORGED STEEL" text indicates to me that they were mass produced, albeit by hand. Any markings on the leather, such as images or logos that could be used to indentify the maker?

The star under pat'd is a trademark for Buermann. I'm trying to look up further info on the exact set, however, there are mind-numbing amounts to go though! I can tell you that they are very collectable and the ones I've seen in that condition have been going for $800+ 8)

I haven't been able to locate that exact set of spurs, however, I can say with certainty that they were made by August Buermann. He made spurs from the 1860s to the 1920s. August Buermann spurs are highly prized and are very collectable! here is a great page showing lots of spurs including some of AB's:http://www.cowboygear.com/spurs.html 8)
