While drilling at Boardman Oregon, about 85 feet deep in the desert, this greenish item came up. I don't think it is a rock, but, possibly a fossil of a sponge or something. I've never seen anything like it. I have attached 3 pics. On one of the pics, it looks like a tubular skeleton structure on it.

Looks like melted brass that was dumped on the ground.
I have found several chunks of lead with that same finger like look to them.

Google cave fungus, it could be some calcified cave fungus.It would grow in an underground waterway that you could have drilled through.Just a guess.



the green could come from water leeching through copper deposit.

It weight is about the same as a rock. It's definitely not a metal. It can be chipped like a rock. It's the thin skeletal tube shapes on the flat surfaces that make me think it is somehow ocean related.

Stalagmite or stalactite specimen from an underground cave would be my guess. Unsure of mineral composition though. Interesting to say the least.
