Can Someone give me any info on this piece? It was given to me as a gift. I was told it was some sort of indian artifact but its made of iron. It appears to be some sort of animal? Its aprox. 14 inches tall and weighs about 7 pounds. It has hole on the back about 1 inch wide and has another hole going from that one to the bottom part. That hole is about the diameter of a pencil. It has really nice work on it. It is wearing clothes of somekind and also a necklace. Very unusul piece. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

At 14" long and 7 lbs I believe it to be a bit large and too heavy for a cane handle. The latter would be more likely.

Good idea to include something else in the pic to indicate a scale of its size, another object we can relate to such as a common coin or a ruler/ tape measure

If it was made of stone I would say, effigy pipe. So maybe a copy of one.

At that size, shape, material and just a wild guess I would toss out a fireplace andiron as a possibility.

I was also thinking fireplace andiron but I think the feet are too close to be stable holding logs.
