I have no idea what this is and was wondering if you could help. I do believe it is St Patrick but do not know, what they were used for, value, age, what they are made of etc.. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks for your help!!

That's a very cool find! It is called a "pocket saint" often associated with [and used by] Catholic soldiers during prayer in the Civil War. I imagine they were used in other time periods as well, and there "statues" were varied.
