I'm not sure what this item is. It measures 3 inches in length and 1/2 diameter at the larger end. 7mm at the smaller end. Larger end has a threaded hole that is in an opening that is also 7mm. The narrow pipe section has a pin hole at the smaller end and a flat grove that runs up the length of the piece to the area that is flared out and stops. I have no idea what this item is. The metal content appears to be copper in an area that got a very mind scratch when digging. My guess is this may be a part to an old car, lawnmower, tractor or other similiar item since I found it in an area where a very old garage used to be. Any help in detemining what this is would be helpful, thanks.

I've added end views. The larger end is threaded so I suppose it screws onto something. Keep those guesses coming, I still have no idea what it is.

Could it be the eye piece for a telescope, microscope, something like that?
Just a guess based on the smaller hole at on end.

Has the look of part of a socket for taking wheel nuts off car wheels. (without seeing a pic' of the inside that is.)

sure looks like a standard copper pipe reducer, for a water line
common
I would think if you scratch the seam of the joint you will find silver solder
