ah crud I should know the name of that from engineering. Pyramidal or something,haha how about multi faceted artifact? Heck I don't know what it is?? What are you thinking? I used to get some wild stuff out of loads of sand from the Brazos. Pretty cool whatever it is.

Glad I could help! Sorry that was it. It would have been way cooler if an indian had made it or something. I have to admit though, I used to love handling those things when they were being placed in the grill. Something really cool about a diamond shaped rock. Not so great after they are used for a while in a heavy use grill.......

I cannot tell you what it was used for. But I can tell you it appears to have been made using the Levallois technology the Neanderthals used (which continued to be used long after them, at some times and in some places).

yep briquette, i had a load of gravel delivered once that was full of ceramic polishing stones that were used in tumblers to smooth metal castings, never could figure out how they got there,but i have seen some listed on ebay as cones
