I dug this in my front yard at nearly a foot deep. I knocked most of the caked sand/rusty scale off of it and this it’s what’s left. It measures just over 2 3/4” in diameter and has a 1 1/8” thickness roughly. It has a deep dish on one side and there is charred wood like material exiting on the other side. Any idea what this may be? EA0281D4-9CD0-462F-A5EF-40B1E88B5BE2.jpeg25651BB8-595E-4E68-B753-84C07377C57A.jpeg66327BA2-D20A-48EE-B22A-CC1FD4BB4AE3.jpeg

It could be anything really. :dontknow:
You might want to consider investing in a tumbler or setting up an electrolysis bucket.

My first initial thought was a wagon wheel nut.

There was a long battle a few miles from my house. I know it’s a reach but could this be something from artillery? I doubt it is. But, other than logging, it’s the only real activity that ever happened here. It is very round. No flat areas where you would put a wrench or socket. Doesn’t appear to be threaded either. The burnt wood/paper material is interesting.

It’s anything we say it is at this point. Lol. This and a 64 Rosie dime are all that’s interesting out of my yard so far...

After researching, I’m left with the notion that’s it’s from a logging operation years ago. Whatever it is....
