It also has some words on it: "NEW E".

The second word starts with E but the rest is illegible.

Yes it looks like some of the teeth are broken off.

Looks like one jaw from a set of bolt cutters.

My dad found this recently when we were hunting together. It was very crusty, and at first, we thought it was a large knife blade. But he took it home and performed extensive electrolysis on it. It then became apparent that it was no knife. It now looks like some kind of part to a machine, possibly from an old milling saw? Thanks for any help. HH
Something along this line.....but there are a million different brands and sizes through the years.

It looks like the part says "NEW E-------"

Is there any chance that it says "NEW DEPARTURE" ?

If so, and this is a wild guess, could it be a brake arm lever for a rear hub on a bicycle??

I realize it is just a wild guess.

sort of looks like a blade from a limb pole cutter
Scissor action, A line was tied off on the hole on the end, the center hole was the point where the 2 blades were bolted together
Just a thought

It seems to have some massive teeth, some of which are broken off. I think that negates the bolt cutter theory which would not have any teeth. Not sure about the other guesses. We'll figured his out. And thanks for all of your input.

I've seen lots of bolt cutters where the jaws were all chipped from cutting something too hard.
