My friend found this, it is bent in half, so hard to get a good picture. It is the same size and thickness of a dime, bluish color and on the only side I can get detail off of, it looks like it says COUNTRY across the top centered, with a wreath and bow on the rest of the border. I have identified three clover-like items in the center bottom but whatever was in the center is not clear. It appears to have been in a fire in the past, but rings like a silver dime when dropped on the counter. I did my best to make a picture of it using powerpoint, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have added as much detail to the picture as possible. Also, I am not sure it says country across the top, it looks like the OU are centered with an NT and then maybe an RY.

These pictures are from my iPhone using a loupe. I can't find my camera cable :(. The dime is for size reference, the unknown coin has a plain edge and is slightly thinner than a dime.

It looks like a flat button without shank to me :icon_thumright:

What is on the other side?

the backside does not have any distinguishing marks to include the place for a shank. at first I though it might be a flat button, but no shank mark.

If you are referring to the backside as the side without the wreath, letters, etc, than that would make more sense for that being a button. The photographs are not good enough to identify, but odds on that is a flat, plain faced button and the lettering and design is the backmark/quality marks of a button. Sometimes evidence of where a shank was is hard to see on a corroded button and it would be on the side with the design and lettering in this case.

look more closely, I might be wrong but what you have drawn have all the hallmarks of a Button & no redeeming features of either a coin/token or medallion

Only better pics will tell the whole story, but I'm thinking (like others) that this is a button.
