Chinese cash coin...you date them by who the Emperor is on the coin.There are cataslogs for Chinese coins.Most are very common.The hole is to put it on a sstring as there were no pockets in most cases back at the time the coins were minted.

reign title: CH'IEN-LUNG, AD 1736-1795 I think the boo chi mint. Got that from the website Mackaydon listed. I found one very similar a few weeks ago.

Nice save, those things are old.

Had a few hundred cash coins that were found while snorkling for gold in the California motherlode gold country towns,especially Angels creek in Angels Camp.The creek runs right along sided the old Chinatown section.

I found one in Maryland. Took awhile to figure it out. Looks like they were all over.
