I found this while out at Modern Miners recent minie site.
We`ve found other Civil War items at this site as well as Dougs standing liberty quarter and arrowheads.
I see no lettering on it only a pattern.
Anyone care to take a shot at its age and origin.

That's a fly button. Probably lost by the soldier. Some have writting on them.
