Hello...

I found this coin today in an area that has produced some silver and wheats for me in the past.. I decided to check beneath a shrub and i got a strong quarter signal at 2 inches.. Something told me to dig it, this is what i found.

Can anyone ID it? It is slightly larger then a US quarter.

I am sure it is a current circulation coin... but need more info..

Thanks

Yep, it's a Japanese 1 sen coin. It is from Meiji 1X year (I had to write X for the 2nd number because it is the one digit I cannot read from the scan). Anyway, that would make it a 1 Sen from between 1877 to 1886. It is unfortunatly not worth much, about $2-3 in its current condition. Still a good find!!
