I need expert help in identifying a 15 mm diameter copper (bronze?) coin dug this morning. Site of find dates to 1800 approximately. Other four coin targets found today in proximity to this coin were between 1880 and 1892. Site is a Baltimore City park.
The obverse has a female coroneted head facing left and the reverse looks to have a bird (eagle?) with maybe a shield at the center.
Obverse
Reverse
Thanks for your help. Please direct me to a picture of this coin is you can id it.
Thanks to Raider19962 for getting us in the right direction on this.
I believe I can see the word "JETON" beneath the eagle of the reverse of the coin I dug, which would make the more likely id as: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces24297.html
Here is a comparison of the Numista token referenced and the one I dug.
