Hi friends, I bought two bags of watches for $10. It was about 20 20180707_113605.jpg20180707_113611.jpg20180707_113625.jpg20180707_113630.jpg20180707_113746.jpg watches in total. They all had a $1 sticky price on them. Among them, and the only quality watch, is this 1963 UG Polerouter Electric. All original, dial, crown, and in very good condition original leather band. It works, but needs a battery. Please let me know uour thoughts. Thanks.

Great watch find Art!

I can't seem to find anything good when it comes to watches. Always some Japanese or Chinese junk. Nice find. :icon_thumleft:

Thanks to everyone. I was lucky to find the Universal.

That's cool. I had to find out what the movement in that watch look like. It's electro-mechanical and definitely a piece of historical high technology of it's day. Hope it runs, as it could be a pretty temperamental movement. I had 6 Hamilton electric's at one time that I picked up at an old jewelry shop in Rawlings Wyoming. The old jeweler told me he was a Bulova dealer at one time and he offered a deal you could trade in your Hamilton electric in on for a new Accutron. They were all non running, but he let me have them all for $150.00. I quickly sold all those Hamilton's on eBay and made close to a grand. That old jeweler isn't there anymore as he died maybe 10 years ago now. He'd been the certified timepiece inspector and watch repairman for the Union Pacific Railroad for years and he had a great collection of RR approved pocket watches. He told me they were called loners, as when a watch came in for repair and inspection these were given as loan until the owners watch was fixed. He was a great guy to stop by and talk about watches with.
