United States Indiana?

I was digging at a 1950's dump today, and popped this out of the hole. The only writing on it reads "United States Indiana", and there are 2 small holes on either side of the disk with a red bulb in the middle. I have no clue what this could be and any help would be appreciated.

My first inkling would be perhaps a Railroad related piece.... Really I have no clue....

I dont know what it is but lots of auto parts produced in Indiana for a long time.What is that next to the red bulb?

It's a piece of iron going through the disk. I think it might have been longer or been attached to something at some point.

My guess is it's the outside face / crank plate of a cheaper fishing reel

Excellent - it's not a light but a jeweled bearing.

I started down that path (it being a bearing vs. a light) - Indiana is the home of Tedco - the largest gyroscope manufacturer in the world. It was a dead end.
